THE MIDLANDS stage premier of classic British TV comedy Hi-de-Hi will take place in Sutton next month. The Trinity Players will perform the play based on a collaboration of episodes of the British hit comedy, set at the birth of the famous holiday camp in 1959. Chairman Rob Thomas said: “We were delighted to be offered Hi-De-Hi as a premiere and as a former red coat myself, I have had great fun teaching our cast the ropes”. Ann became a Pontins Blue coat in 1964, aged just 16 at Middleton Towers camp in Heysham, Lancashire and still remembers the songs, dances and scratchy costumes, The show runs from Friday September 16 until Saturday September 24 at Sutton Arts Theatre on South Parade with a gala evening on September 24.
