INTERNATIONALLY renowned pianist Di Xiao is to perform at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. The show is to open the 83rd concert session for The Sutton Coldfield Philharmonic Society. The award winning pianist will be performing Saint-Saens’ 2nd piano concerto on the night and will be joined by the Sinfonia of Birmingham. Martyn Parfect, chairman of the Sutton Coldfield Philharmonic Society, said: “This piano concerto, which is an audience favourite worldwide, stretches all pianists to their limit and is well suited to Di Xiao’s extraordinary technique.” The concert on October 3 is the first of four in the season and the final concert is on March 26, 2012.
