EX-Eastender Shaun Williamson will be taking the lead role in a new production of Porridge. He will be stepping into the role of Fletcher - the jailbird played by Ronnie Barker in the original BBC sitcom. Now the show’s original creators, Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais, have written a brand-new story for the stage. On air from 1974-1977, the comedy won great acclaim, but also courted controversy - with some tabloids criticising the show for glorifying prison life. The stage version will be on at the Alexandra Theatre from February 8-10. Tickets are available on 0844 847 2388. |
