DANCE lovers are set for a feast of entertainment when British Dance Edition (BDE) showcases an extensive programme in Birmingham from February 3-6. A National Dance Network Initiative hosted by DanceXchange, British Dance Edition profiles new and existing work by leading UK-based artists, dance companies and choreographers. David Massingham, artistic director of BDE 2010, says of the packed, four-day programme: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming dance promoters from across the world to Birmingham for British Dance Edition 2010. We have an amazing line up of performances and events in an edition that has many artists and companies never featured before. It’s all about networking, debating and enjoying a new style BDE that will challenge perceptions of what British dance is all about!” The programme includes Arthur Pita’s God’s Garden (February 3, 8pm) at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, a new full-length work based on the parable of The Prodigal Son, Jasmin Vardimon Company’s critically acclaimed Yesterday (February 4, 8pm) at Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Dudendance’s Spaceman (February 5, 1pm) at A E Harris Building.
