Veseyans RFC 43 Telford Hornets RFC 23 VESEYANS RFC were looking for a sterling performance as they played host to struggling Telford Hornets RFC but it was the visitors who took the lead. A brace of penalties from Matt Poulton put Vs in front but a miss tackle put Hornets 6-10 ahead. The sides exchanged penalties before Alex Collyer scored the first of V’s tries. Poulton converted for 16-13. After the re-start, V’s centre Paul Perrins scored a try for 21-13. Telford cut the deficit with another well struck penalty before a Poulton penalty made it 24-16. Flanker Pete Atkins crossed the line, Poulton adding the extra two points, followed by Perrins who galloped away for his second. Perrins scored his hat trick with Poulton adding the extras to take his personal tally to 18. |
