NEWLY promoted Sutton Coldfield Ladies start their premiership campaign against Bowden Hightown Ladies with a 12 noon pushback at Wyndley Leisure Centre. The Manchester based outfit are the current EH Cup holders and the club is appealing for fans to come on down and lend their support. Meanwhile the Ladies Seconds thrashed Coventry & North Warks 1st XI 5-0 away. Isobel Smith’s opener was the only highlight of a drab first half before Sutton came out firing on all cylinders, Karen Bird, Smith again, and Alice Bradley all scoring before Smith completed her hat trick. The Thirds were on form too beating Cannock 5-2 while the Fourths - a lethal combination of youth and experience, put six past Cannock. A fine weekend was completed by Sutton’s 4/6th who beat Cannock 4-2. To get involved with Sutton hockey contact comms@suttoncoldfieldhc.co.uk for more information, or just come along to training!
