SUTTON have been a bit of a bogey team for Olton over the last few seasons but on this occasion, with home advantage, it was not to be. Olton were ahead on 21 minutes but Sutton immediately responded with some worrying breakaways, mainly centred around Jane Sixsmith, which needed some resolute defending.
Sutton pressed hard at the beginning of the second half, equalising on 49 minutes through Celia Butler. However a lucky deflection gave Olton the breakthrough followed five minutes later by a third goal.
Some desperate defending kept Sutton at bay and the game slipped away.
