Veseyans first XV kicked off their league campaign at Eccleshall on Saturday. Winger Ryan Brunsden made a sublime break before galloping off down his touchline, off-loading to flanker Craig Hetherington who charged over to open the visitors’ account. Centre Scott Davis then finished off another Brunsden break to go further ahead. Full back Sam Griffiths then crossed giving Veseyans a 17-0 lead at half time. Frustrations boiled over as the V’s went down to 13 players late on yet the visitors remained resolute. Finally hard running James Thomas, charging in from his wing, scored an excellent try for Veseyans to seal the win . Tomorrow: Veseyans play host to Harborne kick off 3pm. |
