Warwick 3 Sutton Coldfield 1st Xl 2 Sutton travelled away to Warwick in the quest for survival on Saturday. Last time these two sides met sparks flew in a very closely contested match and this time was no different. Warwick started the better of the two sides - only a string of fine saves from keeper John phipps kept the score at 0-0. It was Warwick who found the back of the net first through an excellently worked penalty corner. Sutton responded well and pushed forward in numbers - Terry Lavery popped up at the far post to tap home and level the scores. Warwick continued to play the better hockey and again took the lead through another short corner and a penalty. Tom Nichols pulled one back for the Sutton side but it was too little too late. |
