LITTLE Aston Table Tennis Club held its tournament finals on January 11. In the handicap singles final, Dave Collins, a regular league player on -10, beat Ian Taylor on -4 in two games, 21-13, 21-16, to take the Peter Allen Singles Cup. Taylor was in action again in the open singles, taking on Nick Matthew. Matthew won the first game 17-21 and Taylor got within a point of the second, but Matthew claimed it 22-2. The handicap doubles featured Val Booth, the ladies champion, partnered with Richard Fryer, against an in-form Graham Luppiatt, and Gerry Conde. Luppiatt won the Christmas tournament playing with Steve Gardener, while Conde playing with Rob Telling, had come second. In the first game Luppiatt and Conde won 21-14 and in the second Booth and Fryer lost 21-16 to give Luppiatt and Conde the trophy.
