MAKING their debut in the Men’s Doubles National Premier Indoor Tennis League, David Lloyd Birmingham – based at Shady Lane, Great Barr – finished as winners of the West Midlands Regional League. The team recorded wins over Streetly Tennis Club, Welti Leisure Shrewsbury, David Lloyd Dudley, Wolverhampton Tennis Club, and Esporta Warwickshire, with just one loss against Warwick University. There are seven regional leagues, and the winners and runners-up of each one now progress to a one pair play-off on Sunday, February 28, at David Lloyd, Westbury on Trym. The winners then go through to a three-day final at the end of April, at Esporta Gloucester. |
