Women 'executed' at Kurdish centre

11:05, Jan 10 2013

Three women have been shot dead at a Kurdish centre in Paris, police said, in what the French interior minister called an "execution".

One of the Kurdish women was a founder of the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, which seeks autonomy for Kurds in Turkey, according to RTL radio.

Police would not confirm a report that all three women were shot in the head.

French interior minister Manuel Valls visited the scene at the Information Centre for Kurdistan, hours after police and firefighters found the bodies.

He told French TV the deaths were "without doubt an execution".

In Turkey, Huseyin Celik, the deputy chairman of Turkey's ruling party, said the attack appeared to be the result of "an internal feud" within the PKK.
