A man is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a young mother of three who was stabbed to death in a taxi. Junior Saleem Oakes, 28, is accused of attacking Natasha Trevis in the Northfield area of Birmingham on Tuesday morning. Emergency workers were called to Dimsdale Road, near the junction with Hoggs Lane, at around 8am and found the 22-year-old victim in cardiac arrest after suffering multiple stab wounds. Ms Trevis, from the Weoley Castle area of the city, was pronounced dead at the scene around 30 minutes later. Oakes was arrested by police officers who found him in a garden in nearby Allens Farm around 10 hours after the attack. He was charged by detectives on Wednesday night and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court later this morning. |
