Lebanon's prime minister has linked a deadly car bombing in Beirut to the civil war in neighbouring Syria. Friday's blast in the capital killed the country's intelligence chief, Brigadier General Wissam al-Hassan, and seven other people. Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that he believes the attack is linked to Mr al-Hassan's recent exposure of an alleged plot by Syria to sow chaos in Lebanon. |
