FLORIST Tracy Teal has raised over s2,000 for John Taylor Hospice with her blooming marvellous flower festival.
Tracy, of Flower Worx in Castle Vale, organised the sale of colourful floral arrangements plus a raffle with prizes including a 32-inch TV, in memory of her father Alan Courtnell who died at the hospice from lung cancer in 2004.
I cared for Dad at home but he didnt want to die where his two-year-old grandson Callum lived, she said.
John Taylor Hospice was a peaceful, calm place where dad could die with dignity.
Tracy had help from friend Leanne Arnold and family, whose mum Karen was also cared for at the centre until she died in May earlier this year.
Tracy also thanked Birminghams Lord Mayor Councillor Anita Ward, Tyburn Councillor Mike Sharpe and the many local businesses who also supported the event.
