Boldmere St Michael's Football Club will celebrate 125 years of existence next season with a black tie dinner-dance for "old boys". A committee has been set up to arrange several events during the year and the highlight will be the dinner-dance at Villa Park on Friday October 24, 2008, to be hosted by BRMB presenter and ex-Mikes player Tom Ross. For this event in particular the club is looking to make contact with former players, management, committee and social members. A committee comprising general secretary Dave Holvey, commercial manager Andy Van-Hagen, long-serving player John Lynne, and director and ex-play-ers and managers Rob Mallaband and Alan Parsons have been fortunate in securing sponsorship for the event from IKON - Document Efficiency at Work and are waiting to hear from locals. Alan said: "A trawl of recent past players and current social members is taking place but there are so may absentees from that list. "I know that many of these people still live in the Sutton Coldfield area and will also have further contacts. "We want this celebration and wish to include as many people from the past as possible along with their ladies. "I am sure that many of these people will have known Harry Peakman and I am delighted to tell them that Harry is still serving the club as president. "Harry joined Boldmere St Michael's in 1943 and since then has fulfilled many roles -player, trainer, manager, secretary, director and chairman. Despite his age and position Harry is actively involved on match days and is still a magnificent ambassador for the club after an incredible 65 years' service."
