PUPILS set on creating a special training track to teach them to cycle safely are a step closer to their dream following a generous donation. Workers at employment experts Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG) have pumped £250 into the initiative at Warren Farm Primary School in Kingstanding which will help pupils learn to ride their bikes safely on the streets. James Treharne, an employment coach at PPDG’s Nechells Baths centre, nominated the school for the donation from the company’s Give As You Earn scheme. His grandson Samuel Treharne, a pupil at the school, mentioned the cycle track and James decided it was a worthy cause. James said: “I think it’s an excellent idea. Members of my wife’s family have attended the school over four generations, Samuel is a pupil there and his father is a governor, so we’ve got tremendous affection for it.” School business manager Mark McLaughlin said: “I would like to thank PPDG for their generous donation. This project will help to keep our children safe on the road.” |
