I first had this game's predecessor some years back in the form of the Sands of Time for the PS2, which I thought was amazing, with all the wall jumping, fighting and the storyline twists. But now I looked at it in comparison to the new Prince of Persia and it seemed like a 'did I actually use to play that?' moment as the new Prince of Persia has a new, fresh image that is emphasized by the unique cartoony HD mix of graphics and good, realistic sound effects and witty characteristics. It looked like a really serious game at first but turned out to be quite funny and witty, despite the sinister storyline, in which, with the help of his new friend, Erika and the prince must stop the evil god of darkness. Arhiman who escaped his god-like prison cell and wreaks havoc on the land turning every part of fertile land to darkness. Now the good things are many, especially the new type of dynamic computer controlled al? that will change the game from great to exceptional, as it does whatever you want it to, saves your life and attacks the enemy with magic for you. The other good points about the game are the games unique, quirky graphics which are a great aspect of the game as well as the sound effects and different skins, including the Sands of Time skin. I also really liked the addition oif the giant claw like grip, which you can use to minimise the impact of falls used in combos. There aren't many bad points in the game, but, even though you don't have to do it that much in the game, the fighting is weird and it puts you into a duelling situation so you can only sidestep and move slowly. I mean the fighting itself is good, it's just you feel like you're in a confined space instead of running and slashing as you go. Overall I thought this was a great game it's got such a fresh image, making it feel like a completely new game, apart from all the athleticism that has struck with the game through the whole franchise. In other words its back, bigger, badder and a lot better looking. |
