500 years have passed since the first Fable game...Albion is a different town, magic is the stuff of the past and adventure seems a long way off... a chance encounter with a mysterious trader changes everything though as you set off on an introductory quest to get the money to buy a mysterious 'magical box'. The main choice you have to make at the start of the game is whether your character is to be male or female, and that's what this game is all about from start to finish (not that I have yet!)... choices govern everything. Everything you do decides what your path will be, wil you be a hero and rid the world of evil or conquer the land and become all powerful? That's a tough decision to make! Graphically this game is enigmatic, jaw-dropping and totally serene, this is epic game-making in every sense of the word, the graphics back up truly amazing gameplay and storylines. The game has is it's central themes and tasks that need completing etc, a basic path to wander down but that's where the linearity ends in this free roaming huge world with adventure and characters at every corner. You can meet a partner and marry, raise a child and you even have a pet dog, the game has a very common, humane feeling to it which counteracts the huge combat element to the game which is at times just fantastic, there is a vast and varied range of weapons on offer, not too mention spells. You can play with a friend too which makes for a much greater experience.. the main experience of the game though is what you decide it is, if you want to stay clear of trouble and be a good citizen you can do, the game is fundamentally about your destiny... you will end up getting involved in the excellent warfare on offer though -it's impossible not too, your moral fibre or lack of it will drag you kicking and screaming into battle. This game is just massive in every sense, it ticks every box that you would want from an RPG - and more, it exceeds your expectations and is a thrilling as it is impressive, this is the biggest gaming adventure you will go on, enjoy it! |
