Best Business 2006
Local business make a major contribution to the economic strength of the area. This award will be made to the company which, regardless of size, demonstrates the fundamentals of good business.
Criteria: Evidence of business growth in the last 12 months, continual improvement through service, training and customer satisfaction.

Small Business of the Year Award
This award will be given to the small business which can demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to adpat to a changing market and show sustained growth.
Criteria: Companies must employ no more than 10 staff in total and have created employment from the local community.

New Business Of The Year
This award will be made to the local business that can demonstrate growth in turnover or employees and show evidence of good prospects in the next twelve months.
Criteria: Company must have started trading in the last 12 months and must be situated in the Awards area.

Retailer of the Year Award
This award will be made to the local based retail business which has striven to create a shopping experience for their customers and demonstrates good business practice.
Criteria: Evidence of an understanding of customers requirements, innovation in service delivery and a demonstration of consumer satisfaction with services and/or products.

Employee Of The Year Award

This award will be made to the individual that has made the most impressive contribution to their company, directly benefiting its business in the last 12 months.
Criteria: To demonstrate individuals beneficial input in the last 12 month period, whether through sales or productivity measured against the previous year.

Training Excellence Award
This award will be presented to the business who can demonstrate sustained growth through the adoption of a Training & Development programme. This will include companies who have established employers links with education.
Criteria: How many staff are employed? How many have undergone internal or external training during the last 12 months? Is financial assistance available to staff for training? Has the company forged links with local education authorities in the previous 12 months?

Legal & Finance Award
This award will be made to the legal / financial professional practice that can demonstrate a range of strategic innovations, including the development of new practice areas, introduction of new technology, expansion of client base and the sustained growth within the previous 12 month period and describe potential future development in key areas. Businesses considered in this category would include those associated with Accountancy and the law.
The entry should demonstrate continued and sustained growth in 2005 and show how ongoing potential to develop other key areas for practice in the future.
Areas considered in the category would include Accountancy, Solicitors, Law Firms and Insolvency Practices.

Lichfield Community Involvement Award
This award wil be presented to the company or organization that has been involved with the local authority.
This involvement might be on a project basis or consistent support and involvement in local initiatives.

Sutton Coldfield Community Involvement Award
This award will be presented to the company or organization that has been involved with the local authority.
This involvement might be on a project basis or consitent support and involvement in local initiatives.

Property Award

This award is poen to nominations from the following categories, Property Holding Companies, Contractors, Developers and Property Investment Companies.
Criteria: Entries are invited from companies in the property sector which may include the following, new builds, renovation projects, commercial, residential and heritage sites.

Customer Service Award
This award will be presented to the business which can demonstrate service above and beyond reasonable expectation.
Criteria: Evidence should include examples of testimonials, service and performance measure and a continuing commitment to sustaining standards.
